Just don't forget to add YOUR authentic personality to the design aesthetic!
Starting a YouTube channel or blog is much more complex than anyone can imagine. In the early days of social media and YouTube, there weren’t prominent influencers and content creators or even companies/brands posting content to social media and YouTube accounts.
Over a decade later, curated content has become prominent, leaving organic content in the dust. Organic content is defined as the free content (posts, photos, video, memes, Stories, etc.) that all users, including businesses and brands, share on their feeds (Cooper, 2020)
Higher production design and value have become a priority for influencers, content creators, and brands when creating content for their audiences to consume.
This has forced unrealistic expectations and pressure for newbies when starting YouTube channels and social media accounts.
Not every content creator can start with a production budget, so each creator must decide the highest priority for their channel.
For many, having an indoor space to film and work in is essential. Creating a filming space, regardless of budget, comes down to three (3) things:
Pick a filming Location
Filming locations in your home can be in the bedroom, home office, kitchen, living room, or basement. Renting studio space to film is an option for those with a significant production budget.
Camera and Lighting equipment
The two (2) essential equipment items that every content creator needs are camera and film lights, no matter their expertise level. Accessories like a camera tripod, table, and sound equipment are recommended but not required when starting.

Design and decorate the space to fit your personality
Designing a filming space is dependent on what the creator would like to share about themselves and their personalities with the viewers. So tailor the décor to match the beat of the channel category while also adding personalized or custom items to showcase your authentic self.
Creating a filming space shouldn’t be based on expectations from viewers or set-ups of other content creators. Instead, content creators must create an environment where they can thrive both in front and behind the camera.
